Google Patches Ninth Chrome Zero-day Vulnerability of the Year (CVE-2024-7971)
Google has released a security advisory to address a new zero-day vulnerability in Chrome, identified as CVE-2024-7971, which is a type confusion issue in the V8 JavaScript engine. This vulnerability was discovered and reported by Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center and Microsoft Security Response Center. The advisory also includes fixes for 38 other vulnerabilities with varying severities.
