Google Play removes a fake Telegram app that was wreaking havoc
Google Play has removed a fake Telegram app called FlyGram, which copied the entire structure of Telegram to deceive users. Another fake app, Signal Plus Messenger, mimicked the Signal app. Both apps are still available on the Samsung App Store. These fake apps steal user data, redirect information, and open other types of infection routes. They were built using the available source code by the original apps, and the same malware, known as BadBazaar, was loaded in both fake applications. Security specialists traced the origin of this virus to Chinese hacker groups. The most affected users were those of Signal, whose messages and sensitive information were accessed by hackers. Google has removed both apps, and it is expected that Samsung will follow suit.
